On February 26, 1999, at 1:50pm, Gregory John Hrehov was discovered in his apartment on Springboro Lane, having sustained a brutal beating at least 24 hours prior which caused his death.  The lack of forced entry suggests the victim may have known his assailant.  Mr. Hrehov was a gun enthusiast and several firearms are believed to be missing from his apartment. 

 Mr. Hrehov, a native of Marion, Ohio, was a finalist for a position with the Worthington Dept. of Development after having served in a similar position with the city of Columbus for ten years.  He was an OSU graduate who was unmarried and lived alone.  Mr. Hrehov was a social drinker who frequented the short north and establishments near his residence near I-270 and North High Street.

On November 10, 2001, at approximately 9:12pm, the Columbus Fire Department responded to a car fire at the rear of 104 W. Main St.  The fire fighters found 24-year old James Neubig inside the burning vehicle which belonged to him.  He was taken to Grant Hospital with extensive burns and later was found to have been shot.  James Neubig died at Grant Hospital from his injuries.  James was reportedly last seen visiting a friend in the area of Morse Road and Cleveland Avenue.

On March 12, 2010, 32-year old Rebecca Lynn Carroll was reported missing from her Franklinton area home.  On Wednesday, April 7, 2010, four women were kayaking on Big Darby Creek.  The women discovered the body of Rebecca Lynn Carroll in the creek, just north of Prairie Oaks Metro Park in Hilliard.  Ms. Carroll’s death could have taken place shortly after her disappearance.  Several leads have been established; however, investigators need more information.

On January 26, 2008, at approximately 6:20pm, 20 year-old Chavin Roberts was in the Summit Park Apartment Complex, located at LeMarie Court and Morse Road.  For reasons unknown, Chavin became involved in an altercation.  As he was returning to his residence in the complex, that being 4440 LeMarie Court, he was shot in the upper body.  The suspect fled the area and Chavin was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.  Chavin lived two weeks before succumbing to his injuries.

On February 2, 2006, at approximately 2:00pm, Columbus Police officers were dispatched to the area of 2389 Apple St. in regards to a shooting.  Upon arriving, officers located the victim Charles Brown, Jr., who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported to Mt. Carmel West Hospital where he died due to the wounds he sustained.  Prior to the shooting taking place, the victim had been sitting in his 1995 Chevy Lumina parked in front of 2389 Apple St.  The suspect shot Mr. Brown through the driver’s side window.  The Police believe the suspect has told people that he committed this homicide; therefore, anyone with any information needs to come forward so that charges can be filed on the individual responsible for the homicide of Charles Brown Jr.

Since posting, Michael Cumberlander has been arrested for this crime.

On Sunday, September 28, 2008, at approximately 4:00pm, the body of Eva Lowery was found at the rear of 1185 Manchester Avenue.  Investigators learned that neighbors heard screams coming from the rear of the address about 2am Saturday morning.  Eva Lowery was last seen alive leaving the JW Sunny Side Bar, located on Weber Rd., at approximately 11pm Saturday night.  Investigators are not releasing information on how Eva Lowery was murdered.

On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at approximately 1:45am, Corey Hart attempted to intervene when he observed a woman, who he knew, in an extremely heated argument with a man outside of the Woods bar located at 2903 E. 5^th Ave.  Corey Hart believed the woman was going to be assaulted.  The man and woman had been fighting inside the bar and were escorted out of the bar. The male walked away and got into a gold colored SUV where two women were seated (one of the women drove).  A second man, a friend of the man who had gotten into the SUV, exchanged words with Corey Hart.  The man then began to walk away, but turned to Corey Hart, produced a handgun, and shot Corey one time.  The man ran to the SUV and fled the scene.  Corey Hart was helped across E. 5^th Ave. to his car.  Columbus Police and CFD medics arrived.  Mr. Hart was transported to Grant Medical Center where he died at 6:38am.

On September 16, 2009, at approximately 2:35am, Patrol Officers were dispatched to 4611 Refugee Road on a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, officers were informed by witnesses that two men intruded on a private gathering.  Cleo Robinson was shot by one of the men during the course of the home invasion.  Mr. Robinson was transported to Grant Medical Center, where he later died as a result of his injury.

On Monday, January 25, 2010, at approximately 10:00pm, Bryon Holiday arrived at his residence on Willow Bloom Dr.  He parked his car in the driveway and opened the overhead garage door.  He entered the kitchen of the home through the garage.  While still in the kitchen, two masked men accosted Bryon and shot him.  Another resident of the home heard the pop of the gun and proceeded downstairs from an upstairs bedroom.  The two intruders demanded money.  Having no money, the resident offered the men an ATM card.  The men refused the card and fled through the garage to an awaiting car.  Bryon Holiday died as a result of the gunshot.

On Friday, June 11, 2010, at approximately 10pm, an altercation between several males broke out inside the Express Mart store located at 900 E. 5^th Ave.  Two of the combatants ran from the store, shooting as they fled.  As a result, two males were shot.  25-year old Demetrius Hargrove was shot outside the store, walked back inside the store and collapsed, dying at the scene.  The other victim was transported to Grant Hospital.  Surveillance video of the suspects may be viewed on the Central Ohio Crime Stoppers website at www.stopcrime.org.

 The suspects are described as: 1) Male/Black, 23-25years of age, 6’, 180lbs, medium brown complexion, medium length afro, black clothing. Suspect 2) Male/Black, 25, 5’10”, 200lbs, dark complexion, small braids (twists), dark baggy clothing.
